The East window in the Church and this tablet are erected by Sir George Armstrong Bart CMG & Edith his wife
in remembrance of their only son Sec Lieut George Carlyon Armstrong, 1st Batt Coldstream Guards
who fell in Action at Cuinchy, Jan 25th 1915, aged 18 years: of all those in this Parish who gave their
lives for King and Country in the Great War and whose names are inscribed above; also
Sub Lieut Philip Furlong Armstrong RN HM Submarine G8
only son of Frank and Pulcheria Armstrong: killed in Action
at Sea Jan 1918 aged 20 years
